About Christin

Hi, I’m Christin Scarborough, a Toronto-based freelance 3D motion designer and product animator, and the artist behind Christin Scarborough 3D.

I create polished 3D animation and motion design for brands, agencies and studios, with a focus on product visualization, advertising content and visually driven motion.

Before moving into freelance commercial 3D, I spent more than eight years working professionally across film, television, animation and visual effects. My background in previs, layout and animation shaped how I approach camera work, visual storytelling, collaboration and production deadlines.

Today, I bring that experience into commercial 3D projects, combining cinematic thinking with clean, high-end design and animation.

From Film & TV to Commercial 3D

My early career was built in film and television, working across previs, layout, animation and visual effects. That environment taught me to solve visual problems quickly, think carefully about camera and staging, and collaborate within demanding production pipelines.

Those skills now carry directly into my commercial work. Whether I’m animating a product, developing a motion concept or building a stylized 3D visual, I approach each project with the same focus on clarity, storytelling and polished execution.

How I Work

I approach each project with a balance of creative exploration, clear communication and production-minded execution.

Concept & Direction

Developing the visual approach, references, ideas and overall direction for the project.

Asset Prep & Look Development

Preparing supplied or sourced 3D assets, then developing materials, lighting and the visual style that define the final look.

Animation & Motion

Creating polished movement, camera work and animation designed around the project’s goals.

Rendering & Delivery

Producing final renders and deliverables for advertising, social media, digital content and other platforms.

My Journey

I grew up in St. Kitts and Nevis, which is a small country in the Caribbean. Most people I meet haven’t heard of it, so I usually end up explaining where it is. Later on, I moved to New York to study Computer Animation at the School of Visual Arts.

My career has taken me around quite a bit since then. I’ve lived and worked in Hollywood California, Austin Texas, Montreal, and now Toronto in Canada. I’ve been lucky enough to work on a pretty wide range of projects too, from large-scale movies like Godzilla vs. Kong to shows like My Little Pony: Make Your Mark.

When I’m not working, I like playing around with new 3D tools, experimenting with personal projects and finding new things to learn. I also spend a lot of my free time rock climbing, biking or doing something outdoors.

A big part of what I enjoy about 3D is that it lets me combine creativity with problem-solving. There’s always something new to learn, whether it’s on the artistic side or the technical side.
